NJC Agreed Allowances - 2007 / 08 (& 2006 / 07 and 2005 / 06)

From Circular 1/07 - Car Allowances - Part 3 paragraph 6

It has been agreed that the rates of Car Allowances be revised with effect from 1 April 2007. The new rates are set out below:

	451-999cc	1000-1199cc	1200-1450cc
Essential Users Lump sum per annum per mile first 8,500 per mile after 8,500	£726 32.0p 12.1p	£819 34.6p 12.1p	£1,056 43.4p 14.4p
Casual Users per mile first 8,500 per mile after 8,500	40.5p 12.1p	44.2p 12.1p	55.8p 14.4p

These allowances are based on a price of 88.25p per litre (401.2p per gallon) for unleaded petrol

Car Allowances - 2006 / 07

From Circular 1/06 - Car Allowances - Part 3 paragraph 6

It has been agreed that the rates of Car Allowances be revised with effect from 1 April 2006. The new rates are set out below:

	451-999cc	1000-1199cc	1200-1450cc*
Essential Users Lump sum per annum per mile first 8,500 per mile after 8,500*	£702 31.4p 12.1p	£792 33.8p 12.0p	£1,023* 42.4p* 14.3p*
Casual Users per mile first 8,500 per mile after 8,500	39.7p 12.1p	43.1p 12.0p	54.4p 14.3p*

These allowances are based on a price of 87.70p per litre (398.7p per gallon) for unleaded petrol

*NB: Devon County Council uses an imposed car allowance rate (it was not agreed with Devon UNISON) which does not recognise the NJC rate above for cars of engine sizes 1200cc-1450cc.

In fact Devon County Council has been dragging its feet as regards reimbursing claimants at the correct rates - see the Campaigns - Travel Allowances page - the branch have made some progress in negotiations on this and further news will be posted here in due course. (May 06).

It has been agreed that the rates of Car Allowances be revised with effect from 1 April 2005. The new rates are set out below:

Casual Users per mile first 8,500 per mile after 8,500	38.7p 11.7p	42.0p 11.8p	52.7p* 13.9p*

These allowances are based on a price of 82.45p per litre (374.8p per gallon) for unleaded petrol.
