The Branch’s Annual General Meeting is on 3 March 2015 at 5.30pm in the Council Chambers, County Hall, Exeter.
Whilst we appreciate that not all members can attend, we hope to see as many friendly faces as possible in order that we can vote on Branch business and ratify new officers and stewards.
Importantly, the Branch is using the AGM as an early opportunity to seek your views on the next Pay Claim for employees under NJC terms and conditions which should take effect from 1 April 2016.
Please note that the intention is to lodge a parallel and identical claim with academies, private contractors and voluntary organisations conditioned to the NJC.
At the moment, nothing has been submitted – which is why we want your views on what you think UNISON should be seeking so that we can feedback on both a regional and national basis. For example:
- Do you think everyone should get a flat rate increase of £1 an hour ?
- Should we be asking for everyone to be on at least the living wage which currently stands at £7.85 per hour ?
- Should it be a flat percentage increase of, say, 5%? In with the claim, should UNISON be asking for increased holiday or a lesser working week ?
We need to know so that your views can be put forward.
So, join us on 3 March to share your views or, if you can’t make it, send us an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org putting ‘Pay Claim’ in the title.
Refreshments will be provided, so if you’re planning to come along, please email Branch Office so we can get an idea of numbers for catering.
The Branch will arrange child minders to be present if required, but please call us before 21 February if you intend to bring a child/children as we need to ensure that we have enough child minders and a large enough venue should there be the demand.
Members who need to arrange for carer provision can claim back costs involved. Claim forms will be available at the meeting and by clicking here.
Branch members will shortly receive an AGM booklet through the post which contains everything you need to know about the AGM, including: the agenda; minutes from last year’s AGM; reports from Branch Officers; and delegate and officer nomination forms, which need to be returned to Branch Office by 20 February. Electronic copies of these forms will be loaded onto the website shortly.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to call Branch Office on 01392 382530, or email email@example.com
