Job Evaluation - Schools Staff (16 Nov 06)
UNISON attended the meeting (79KB, opens in a new window) with DASH (Devon Association of Secondary Heads), DAPH (Devon Association of Primary Heads) and SHAD (Special School Headteachers Association in Devon) referred to below and agreed that the 'best fitting' exercise will be completed by about 15 Dec 06.
Individuals should now receive notification by about 15 Jan 07 and the implementation date of 1 Apr 07 remains unchanged. See further DCC letter to head teachers sent on 16 Nov 06 (69KB, opens in a new window).
A delay in the process timetable for schools staff ... ? (9 Nov 06)
The branch has been informed of a letter (64KB,opens in a new window) sent by DCC to head teachers on 9 Nov 06 stating that a decision has been taken - without union involvement - to delay the process currently being undertaken in respect of Job Evaluation.
The Heads apparently cannot complete the process in the current time constraints.
A meeting will take place during the week beginning 13 Nov 06 - in which UNISON will be involved - to work out the way forward.
We encourage UNISON members to continue to submit their ballot paper before 17 Nov 06 as the vote is on the process used not the possible outcomes for individuals. It is not the process which has caused this situation in schools, it is the implementation by schools management.
