The recession has hit the government’s finances hard and public debt has grown. Some are now arguing that we will have to cut the amount the government spends on public services. Don’t stand by while politicians decide on public service cuts that could hurt your family and neighborhood. Now’s the time to add your voice and pile on the pressure to defend your local community’s health, safety, education and environment.
To defend our public services over 500 UNISON members from Devon joined hundreds of thousands of public sector workers on Saturday 26 March at a rally in London designed to protest against the Government’s savage spending cuts. The rallying cry was for an alternative fair taxation; investment in local communities; health and education; and a more equal and just society.
