This represents the fourth edition of the Annual Directory of Retired Members and I am grateful to all who have helped in its compilation. We now have a total of nearly 350 entries. This covers just over a third of the membership; it is not comprehensive as it requires each retired member to give consent to the inclusion of their details. Those not in the current edition that wish to be included in the next one should download this form here (pdf file - 86KB - opens in a new window), print it off, complete it and send it in to the Secretary. There is another form (pdf file - 86KB - opens in a new window) for advising the Secretary of any amendments.
The intention of the directory remains to provide the opportunity for our retired members to remain in touch with former work colleagues, with whom they might have lost touch, and as a means by which you can draw our attention to those former NALGO / UNISON members at the time of their retirement who, for some reason, have not become retired members - we would be pleased to welcome them back into the fold. Gradually, as more people get access to electronic mail, it will also be possible for us to send a brief message to those with e-mail, as the need arises. The latter would not be in substitution for the newsletter.
Do please treat the membership list as in the nature of a Club Directory. We shall not be making it available to third parties and nor should any of you. It is not to be used for business purposes.
We are now on the Branch website. The retired members’ section can be found by scrolling down the menu and looking under ‘Equalities’. However, the directory itself is within a password protected part of the site.
We welcome your continued support for this initiative and will be pleased if this can become more comprehensive.
