Retired Members
The Retired Members Section comprises at any given time about 850 members who were formerly employed by Devon County Council immediately prior to retirement and who were NALGO / UNISON members at that time. Some worked in Plymouth and Torbay prior to Local Government Reorganisation and have opted to retain their membership within the Devon County Branch. There are also members who have transferred from other authorities in the UK but who have transferred residency to Devon.
The Retired Members Committee meets four times a year and has an active programme of social events and visits. It also lobbies at local, regional and national level on issues of concern relating to pensioners.
Any member who wishes an item to be considered by the Retired Members Committee is invited to send details to the Retired Members' Secretary.
