Regional Women’s Conference

Yet another wonderful event, 8 women represented Devon County Branch and every one of us had a great day.

I managed to start the day off by getting lost; Sally and I just made it in time for a quick coffee before the Speaker was in full flow. The Speaker was called Ivy Cameron (Equality and Industrial Relations Consultant). Her theme was A Woman's Place is in Her Union; I stayed for her morning workshop - she was inspirational. Other workshops offered were Financial Planning, Benefits and Domestic Abuse in LGBT / same sex relationships. The feedback for all the morning workshops was very positive.

After lunch we were offered workshops in

• Belly Dancing
• Indian Head Massage
• Fair Trade
  and
• Empowering Women.

I attended the Empowering Women where we practiced exercises in communication, listening, proving to be a very valuable way of communicating.

All in all a very enjoyable day with masses to do, see and discuss, I would have liked to have had more time to look at the stalls in the market place but was busy catching up with members I do not see very often.
