Women’s Officer wanted!













Do you care about women’s rights at work and in the community?  Are you fed up with women bearing the brunt of the Government’s austerity agenda?  Do you want to do something about it?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to these questions then why not apply for the post of Branch Women’s Officer and help represent our women members.

Women are at the heart of public services and account for over 70% of our membership.   In addition, women are more likely to use public services than men, so they are the first to be affected when services are cut.  But did you know that of the 14.9 billion pounds worth of welfare savings already being implemented, around three-quarters (74%) are coming from women’s pockets?

Unfortunately, women still earn a lot less than men and face sex discrimination and harassment at work. Our women members also juggle work and home commitments. Many have caring responsibilities and almost half work part-time.
